"ANKLE MONITOR" SCAM

ELECTRONIC (ANKLE BRACELET) MONITORING SCAM ATTEMPT

The Leavenworth County Sheriff's Office has received reports that individuals are being contacted and told to pay money, so that a loved one can be released from jail on an electronic monitoring device due to the "jail being full."  The individual has a heavy accent and identifies themselves as a detention officer or deputy with the Leavenworth County Sheriff's Office.  This is a scam.  

If you have paid any money to any individual as described, immediately report the scam to your local law enforcement agency.
